I have entered this particular short story for the ninth [ 2008 ]
V.S. Pritchett Memorial Prize from the Royal Society of Literature.

It is a stipulation for entry to this prize competition that work should nor be published elsewhere.    I do not know whether or not being presented as  part of a personal web site counts as ‘publication’;
but, lest this should in fact be the case, I feel it may be unwise
to display it here until after the competition has been judged.

It will appear in due course; meanwhile, I apologise again.
